All time FAVORITE card!!!

Hi All!
Today I have a card that I made from complete scratch that turned into my ALL TIME FAVORITE CARD!!!! I was not really planning on participating in the Make it Monday challenge, but I found myself in need of a sympathy card. I took their advice and made it classy, but cheerfully colored.
I was inspired by the Watch Me Wednesday video at Ashley Newell's blog to create my own background paper and it was a GREAT experience!!! She also used seam binding that she colored herself with spray and ink. I tried to do the same, but I found that it did NOT work as well for me- but I was pleased with the final result anyway. I don't know if there are different varieties of seam binding, but I'm guessing there are because her's did not have a seam and mine did. I spritzed it with water, dabbed it in a brown and an orange ink, and scrunched it up in my hands. It created a fabulous bow!
To create the background, I started with plain white paper cut to the same size as the card front. I first stamped the text in a light color. I then stamped the swirlies (for lack of a better word). Then the birds; then the butterflies. The butterflies are stamped in white and were not very visible before I distressed the paper. I've never distressed over white ink before and it turned into an awesome thing!!! The butterflies now stand out more since the distress ink changed the paper differently than it did the inked portion. I would definitely encourage you to try this technique!!!
To finish off the card, I took the edge of scissors around the edge, attached it, and then added more distress ink along the edge. Like I said, this is now my ALL TIME FAVORITE CARD!!!!

I also made up a digital scrapbook page with the free downloads from the Shabby Princess website.
I changed the picture to almost sepia in order to have the same hue as the papers. It's a simple page, but I am excited to get it printed at some point.

Well, THANKS for checkin' out my favoritest card ever- and, yes, I do know that that is not a real word, but this card somehow makes me a little giddy.
