Papertrey July 2011 Blog Hop

Hi All!

Yes, I do posts in spurts... Several days off then a ton! Today is the Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop on Nichole Heady's blog HERE.

The inspiration photo is:
My personal inspiration came from the fact that last night I spilled my whole scrap drawer!!! So, I am feeling the need to use LOTS of scraps. Here is what I came up with:

I also used scraps to make another card:
I have a feeling that there may be a few more of this type of card coming out of my craft station in the near future! Thanks for stoppin' by!!!

Supplies
   Paper: scraps
   Stamps: PTI- Mat Stack 2
   Ink: Colorbox: cerulean, chestnut
Other: PTI- Delightful Doilies die cut; doilies

Color Splash: Turquoise

Hi All!
After I finished my first colorsplash card last night, I HAD to make another one for the Play Date Cafe challenge!!!
This time I used turquoise for the splash of color.
If you didn't notice, this is a little outside my comfort zone. I usually make very clean and simple cards and I feel a bit unsure about how to make a busy card... However- I succeeded! I think this is a very busy card- and I love it!
The background paper is PTI's true black with Damask Designs heat embossed in white powder. All of the turquoise is from an ink pad. I inked the white cardstock, the white doily, and the center circle.

I had originally stamped the happy birthday in turquoise on the white piece and decided it was too hard to read. So- I restamped the frame on white, cut it out, inked it, and stamped in black!

Thanks for checkin' it out!

Supplies
Paper: PTI- true black, white; white card at 4" x 5.5"
Stamps: PTI- Damask Designs, Mat Stack 2, Birthday Basics
Ink- VersaMark; VersaMagic- aquatic splash; Colorbox- black
Other: doily; PTI- Mat Stack 2 die cut; white embossing powder

Play Date Cafe Color Splash: Green!!!

Hi All!
I am so excited about this week's Play Date Cafe challenge! It is a colorsplash! Which basically means black and white with a splash of one color of the rainbow.

I chose to use lime green :)
All of the green are punchouts from the Pretty Poppies paper pad. It's an old pack that I picked up around two years ago on clearance at Michael's.

I heat embossed the sentiment and popped up the portion with the flower.

Thanks for checkin' it out!!!

Supplies
Paper: PTI-true black; white scraps; Autumn Leaves- Pretty Poppies set
Stamps: PTI- Think Big Favorites #2
   Ink: VersaMark
   Other: white embossing powder

Hi All!
Quick post today because the Play Date Cafe challenge closes in 36 minutes! I made the card yesterday and have been lazy.... The colors are Eggplant, Fuschia, and Orangesicle. I came up with this:

I wish I had stamped the sentiment a second time to make it a little stronger, but I didn't think of that until I'd moved the Stamp-a-majig and glued the buttons. Thanks for checking it out!

Supplies
Paper: cream card at 4" x 5.5"; cream scraps
Stamps: PTI- Flower Fusion #3, Paper Salon- 1815D (sentiment)
Ink: VersaMagic- Perfect Plumeria, Purple Hydrangea; Studio G- orange, pink
Other: PTI- Flower Fusion #3 die cut; buttons; twine; Ranger Stickles- Frosted Lace

CAS Boy Birthday Card

Hi All!
Today I have a CAS (clean and simple) boy birthday card for my nephew. The CAS-ual Friday challenge is to use a sweet or a treat in the card.

I don't have many sweet themed decorations, so I used my cricut to cut out a birthday cake.
I inked up the various layers and added some stamping to the top and bottom of the card. The colors don't really show up on the pic, but the colors along the top and bottom are lime green and orange and the sentiment is cerulean blue.
I also added some score lines at the top and bottom. The design from cricut had three candles, but I only used two because my nephew turned two! Yes, turned... as in past tense... because I am a horrible late aunt!
But- it won't happen next year!!!! I will have an organized married life with a full time job this time next year! Did I mention that I got hired last week at my local hospital??? Yup! I am psyched!!!!

Thanks for checkin' it out!!

Supplies
Paper: white card at 4" x 5.5"; blue and green scraps
Stamps: PTI- Little bitty bird, Birthday Basics, Flower Fusion #2
Ink: Studio G- white, orange, lime; Colorbox- sunflower, cerulean
Other: Cricut with the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge; Martha Stewart Scoring Board

Red, Pink, and Neutral!

Hi All!
See- I did get some cards online! I know it took me longer than usual, but here they are!
The CR84FN color challenge is red, pink, and neutral:

The background is really subtle. There is embossing, distressing, and neutral stamping!
When making the card, I originally started with a different card background. However, I decided that it could stand on its' own as a "no sentiment" card.

It also has background stamps, embossing, and distressing! But- no red, so I won't be submitting it to the contest.
FYI- the wedding dress shopping went really well! I thought for sure I would find one or two that I really liked, but I did not expect to find 3 that I LOVE and another few that I really like!!! So now I need to decide on what style I really want... dramatic? sexy? fun? classic? hmmmm! Such decisions!!! At least they're fun!!!

Thanks for checkin' in!!

Wedding Thoughts

Hi All!
I know... last entry I said I would make something asap... and it's been almost a week....
I did make some things... four cards actually...
But- have I taken pics of them?? No...
However- I thought I would share with you some other pretty pretties that I have been looking at as part of my wedding planning activities!!

These are all on my pinterest wedding board (along with much more!)  HERE if you'd like to take a look.
The wedding is going to be in January, so I am looking at a lot of wintery ideas :)
I am thinking about using this vintage-ish dress for bridesmaid dresses:
http://www.milanoo.com/Apricot-Euramerican-Cotton-V-neck-Collar-Womens-Dress-p32274.html
I know it looks white- but the description says apricot.... But- who knows? Solution??? I ordered me one!! It is definitely my kind of dress!
Hopefully I will get my cards photographed and up soon!
Thanks for checkin' it out!!!

P.S. I am going to try on wedding dresses for the first time tonight!!! WOOO HOO! Wish me luck!

Wedding Surprise!!

Hi All!
I am back from the trip to Nebraska for my cousin's wedding! It was an amazing trip and the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to! My cousin was GoRgEoUs!

I, however, had the best surprise of all!!! It all happened during the firework show at the end of the wedding--- while I was trying to get a better view, my boyfriend held me back... and then he proposed!!!!

Completely did NOT see it coming!!!! Shocked out of my mind! And- had no idea that my dad was around taking photos but I am so glad he did!!!
SO- while I don't have any crafts to share today, I can give a prediction: there will be many wedding ideas and samples showing up here over the next few months! Hopefully, I will have some cards to share tomorrow :)

Thanks for checkin' it out!!
