High Five for Friday

Hi All!
I'm going to participate in the High Five for Friday link up for the first time this week- at the From My Grey Desk blog. Yes, this is technically early Saturday morning, but I slept through most of Friday ...

1. I did my hair every day!!!

2. We bought a sleep number bed and I absolutely can't wait to have it delivered!!!!!

3. One of my kitties came out of hiding for a little while last night.

4. I bought two t-shirts from Victoria Secret.com (originally 19.50) for 2/$28 then got free shipping, then had two $10 off coupons! Total of $10.41 after taxes!

5. The weather was beautiful this week!

I like how this made me think of all the good things that happened this week :) a very good thing to get into a habit of!

The Day's List

Here's the list for today... Will it all get done? I have a good feeling about it :)

I did get a wide-awake start when my husband's alarm went off at 430 this morning and have had my two cups of coffee! Here I go!

Late entry: P.S. I did get most of the list done! No card making or garage box unpacking, but pretty much everything else!

Something Different- hair!

Hi All,

I don't usually share much personal information on here, but I'm finding myself a little overwhelmed right now with work affecting my life.

I'm a nurse...

An RN...

I work nights on a med-surg floor...

That's three 12.5 hour shifts a week...

7 pm to 730 am...

I am a newlywed...

I can get great sleep during the day... Alone

I CANNOT get good sleep at night next to my husband because I don't spend enough nights sharing the bed...

I feel like a zombie most of the time...

I'm exhausted!

It has a bad effect on the rest of my life...

Soooo....
I am trying to find some hope; some small things to cheer me up...

And that leads me to hair!

When I was 18 I really wanted to become a hair stylist, but I also wanted to become a nurse. I logically knew that a nurse would have a more stable job and I went that way. Throughout school I did learn to love nursing... And then I graduated and got hired...

And now I'm exhausted and having trouble loving anything....

So, back to hair- I had a mini-melt down last week (crying hysterically in my husbands shoulder) After calming down and praying it out, I felt better. I talked with a fellow-nurse-friend and she encouraged me enough that I felt like I could make little changes to help me enjoy life more.

First, I know that when I look like a slob, I feel like a slob... Solution- take the extra 10-20 minutes a day to do my hair! (I do already take the time to do my make-up daily)

I follow a blog called The Small Things Blog where the author, Kate, provides hair tutorials. I find her blog to be very inspirational! It also helps that my hair is cut very similarly to hers- although I can't say it normally looks like hers!!!

Last week I tried her Ballerina Bun style, except I turned mine into a double :) Here's a picture of the results :)

It's just one small step that I'm taking... and it seems to be helping!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just For You Birthday Card

Hi All!

This last week I finally got my order from Papertrey Ink! I used the Rosie Posie stamp set to make almost all of the elements for this card:
I created the background paper with the large hexagon pattern in "wheat" and stamped the smallest hexagon within in "white" but unfortunately it doesn't really show in the picture. And I only took the one picture because I gave the card away to my grandma for her birthday... and I was going to the brunch after working all night, so I was pretty happy to have gotten a clear picture after being awake for 24 hours!!! The largest three flowers are popped up on dimensional adhesive and I slightly curled up the ends of the leaves

On the inside, I used one of my new Mover's and Shaker's dies:

I learned that in the future, I should use a thinner piece of paper for the inner piece because the card would fold better. Overall, I really love this card!!!

Thanks for checkin' it out!
